Improvisational noise ensemble formed in Asheville, North Carolina in 2011. The band has frequently cited their purpose as to "open the vortex". Their sound varies from freeform ambient to noise and total destruction. The lineup varies each show with anywhere from 3 to 10 members on stage. The band was started by Ryan Watson and has also featured Andy Loebs, Devin LeCroy, Jody Wall, and Josh Clark as the most frequent performers. Human Energy Field is part of the Ingrown record label and music collective.
