It would be awesome if there could be some discussion from the organizers of this website, letting us know what the intention of the site is, plans for the future, etc. That would be great. Cheers, Doctormatt 16:58, 31 August 2007 (PDT)

to form a central hub of all things noise Noisewikiadmin 17:22, 31 August 2007 (PDT)

So, do you envision the site as a useful site, that people can rely on for helpful/accurate/reliable information, or do you want the site to be a work of noise art in itself, a kind of chaotic mish-mash of whatever goes, that people can experience on a more aesthetic/emotional level? Doctormatt 18:10, 31 August 2007 (PDT)
it should be both useful and noisish Noisewikiadmin 18:58, 31 August 2007 (PDT)

i would personally like to see this wiki being 90% useful, 10% weird noise shit.

aww that wouldn't be any fun.. I would like to see links and some of description for most of the artists Noisewikiadmin 19:55, 1 September 2007 (PDT)

About templates

I tried to create infoboxes for bands, artists and genres using as base the templates given by Wikipedia, but the spam cop kicked my ass, can someone more skilled create the templates???? I used the Template:Infobox musical artist with a few modifications. Thanks.

I'll have to read up on templates Noisewikiadmin 19:56, 1 September 2007 (PDT)

Okay I read up on this.. I'm not going to get too involved in building templates that complex. I made template "Template:Infobox musical artist" If you want add some stuff to it. Noisewikiadmin 20:36, 1 September 2007 (PDT)

so how do i use a template? Ablablablablabla

a template is a preformatted page, when you create a new page and reference the name of the template the contents of the template page will be copied to the new page. Noisewikiadmin 10:06, 3 September 2007 (PDT)

I created a template called Template:Infobox musical artist if I place the following code into a page the content of the template will be copied there {{Template:Infobox musical artist}}

The template "infobox musical artist" actually does not work as an infobox template, it's working as a titles/format (I don't know how to name it) template, I think there is no way to create an infobox template than shutting down the spam bot and copying the template given by Wikipedia, I don't know if the admin can deactivate the bot or if that bot came with the wiki-format... so when I tryed that (with the spam bot on), I tryed substracting the most entryes that I can but the bot rejected my tryings every time. Sorry, my English sucks but I tryed to explain it the best. Thanks bytheway. --Bsides 20:04, 3 September 2007 (PDT)

can you give me a link that show me what you are talking about.. I don't know what this things is supposed to look like Noisewikiadmin 22:12, 3 September 2007 (PDT)

Yes sir, you just have to go to Wikipedia's infobox source and copy the template, when I did, I made a few changes to the code, but I think the only relevant thing is to delete the Wikipedia notes and change de last entry "/doc" and place in it "infobox musical artist". If it works the result may look as the blue topped box in this link. --Bsides 07:01, 4 September 2007 (PDT)

Yea I see what you mean now.. I think what is happening is that the template may be referencing other templates or resources that are not installed here and that's why the spamcop thinks it may be referencing exteranl files which we don't want cause that's how the fyucking spammers get ya.

Anyway looks like a lotta work to deal with and I have to wonder if we really need it when I'd be happy to have a few sentences, a pic and a link for most of the band entries. Noisewikiadmin 18:48, 4 September 2007 (PDT)

Yeah, looks impossible to do... May be it's useful for long descriptions and useless for small ones, but look's cool, anyway we can live without templates. --Bsides 16:27, 6 September 2007 (PDT)

De Deletion

Damn, too many spam articles are rising here, how can we delete these articles, or only Admin can delete???? If that, how can I nominate these pages for deletion???? --Bsides 19:20, 6 September 2007 (PDT)

Yea.. I'll deal with them for now.. Noisewikiadmin 09:29, 7 September 2007 (PDT)

help with userpage

Hi all, I'm new to this whole wiki editing thing. I would like to be able to add my noisegrind band, but according to the instructions I have to add a category to my user page... I have absolutely no way to edit my user page. It tells me I don't have permission to create it? How to I bypass that and create my user page so I can start making my band's page on here? Mammalsaucepa

help with userpage (cont'd)

I did not need help creating my bands page, only creating my USER page. I do not have permission to do so apparently. I also do not have permission to modify the discussion for my username and respond to you there. How do I do this? Mammalsaucepa

Ah.. I see the problem .. so far no luck on fixing it. Noiseadmin (talk) 18:25, 19 December 2015 (PST)
